- zoklet-enjoyer 4y agoThis letter from November says they have over $6 billion worth of shares. I think that's less than half a percent of Google shares. - MisterBastahrd 4y agoThey have 51.3% of the voting power. Their shares have 10x the voting power of other voting shares.
- xbar 4y agoI like little fund managers that think they understand anything about the actual operations of the companies they invest in based on metrics like "median salary."
- toomuchtodo 4y agoGotta justify your fee for not beating index funds. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4567705-chris-hohn-tci-fund-management-13f-portfolio-q3-2022-update https://seekingalpha.com/article/4567705-chris-hohn-tci-fund... > This quarter, TCI Fund Management's 13F portfolio value decreased ~10% from $31.60B to $28.58B. The number of positions decreased from 12 to 9. The top three holdings are at ~53% while the top five are close to ~79% of the 13F assets: Alphabet, Microsoft, Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railway, and Visa. This is down from ~$44B 1H2022. https://seekingalpha.com/article/4522800-chris-hohns-tci-fund-management-13f-portfolio-q1-2022-update https://seekingalpha.com/article/4522800-chris-hohns-tci-fun...
- jmathai 4y agoLooked him up and he seems like a solid person. I don't agree with his assessment of Alphabet but his activism and philanthropy may make up for it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Hohn https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Hohn

- ablatt89 4y agoWould TCI recommend they lay off their own staff or reduce their staff salaries due to such abysmal returns also? Lol.
- ocdtrekkie 4y agoWhich is to say, it's entirely fair to blame Larry and Sergey for these layoffs. Running things day to day or not, the company is still controlled by them and works more or less the way they want it to. Every time someone claims Google was different when Larry and Sergey ran it absolutely perplexes me... they still run it.
