Ask HN: What is a good reason to join Google?
I am debating whether to appear as a worthy candidate to them. I remember the allure a job with them used to be but is it still that happy place for developers?
- throwawaysalome 4y agoThis reminds me of Seinfeld's observation about people who "think they want to go into acting." The statistics are so skewed against success that any wishy-washiness guarantees failure.
- yuppie_scum 4y agoCompensation is good, the brand has cachet socially and it’s good on a resume (an endorsement to future employers that you are at least smart enough to grind leetcode) Better than flipping burgers at McDonald’s
