I feel like most western countries have very lop sided "safety nets". Here in the UK, some people make out like dogs while others get nothing. Spending is huge yet there are a lot of people doing without. Partly that's a political issue. Then there are various poverty traps and ludicrous outcomes. UBIs solve all this.
