I got beaten once in school by a teacher, and it was well deserved and fixed the problem at hand. But my mother told me once, that when she was in school her teacher was fixated at one girl and did beat her often and mostly for no good reason. The girl was from a poor family, and my mother was upset by the unjustice, but never spoke up, IIRC. So YMMV. At the end, I think such occasional injustice is the lesser evil compared to the sheepish society and nanny states that are the consequence of the pathetic antiviolent decadence we have nowadays in most of the nation states.
