I've been hoarding every bit of music I've composed since the eighties. What advice would you give, before it becomes a serious problem?
I'd also like to ask: how old is the oldest thing you own? And, additionally, what are the two oldest things you own?
At what point does having more than one of something become hoarding?

Smith tells about being in the studio, and not being able to get something to sound right. He went back to listen to an old work tape, and realized "OK, nobody should be playing but the piano. That's what's wrong right now in the studio." If that's what you do, keep it all, even the "in process" stuff. But as I said, stuff you watched is different from stuff you made.
