There are likely hundreds of things like this if you looked hard enough, I am sure plenty of managers or execs have ‘wasteful’ expenses that anyone of them could generate such headlines of outrage and the majority of people “upset” are not going to be those that are effected by this directly, those that are have more to be concerned with rather than outrage porn. If Microsoft feels it needs a private concert and such events to provide perks to its executives that it obviously feels is somehow valuable and it also believes it has to much staff for the jobs it needs to do, those are completely separate, I am not saying I agree with those choices but it is there choice to make and it’s silly to get upset about it.
