some of the articles and videos i've seen talk about rio verde being ~40 miles from scottsdale. that's like saying canada is 900 miles from america. the town centers do appear to be 40-ish miles apart, but there are rio verde houses just a few meters outside of scottsdale. this gmap might show you the outline of scottsdale, and the center of rio verde about 7 miles east of the eastern edge of scottsdale. and the center of rio verde being a golf community. really. :-D https://goo.gl/maps/cWb6zdCpcaqxKCPB7 https://goo.gl/maps/cWb6zdCpcaqxKCPB7 it is beautiful out there, i'll give them that much, and i can't wait to never go back to the phoenix area except for the snowbird season maybe.
