Berkeley Chess School does lots of casual tournaments (and classes): https://www.berkeleychessschool.org/programs/adult-chess-tournaments/ https://www.berkeleychessschool.org/programs/adult-chess-tou... (One of my kids does a lot with BCS and loves them) There's also a small sidewalk chess scene on Telegraph: https://www.berkeleyside.org/2022/01/30/community-chess-telegraph-avenue https://www.berkeleyside.org/2022/01/30/community-chess-tele...
