Safari Extension: Homecoming for Mastodon Opens Mastodon URLs in Your Instance
- jeroenhd 4y agoI'm not sure if this is always what you want. Mastodon instances don't immediately fetch all replies and such for a toot; by default, only the posts made/boosted/otherwise forwarded to your insurance will appear. If you intend to follow the conversation, opening remote toots locally can hide some of these replies. Fedilab, an Android client for fediverse servers, has a button to fetch the toot remotely if you want the details. It's something I'm a little irked by, I wish I could configure my server to fetch all these toots for me. I get that the overhead would be too big for the common servers but my personal server should barely notice the extra load and I'm going out of my way to fetch the data anyway.
