My GH Pages build failed after a 10 minute timeout.

  Same, twice in a row --- original build, and rebuild both timed out. That's how I found my way to the status page and realized it's a larger problem. On the plus side, I know they enforce a timeout, and email notifications about failures (I got them) are isolated from this sort of degradation of pages, actions, and git operations.
