Being nearsighted, but getting older and needing a separate reading prescription, I would love adjustable glasses, but this is not it. I have to buy at least three pairs of glasses every time my prescription changes:
1. A pair with progressive lenses, for being out and about. I need the distance vision for driving, and the intermediate/near range for looking at instruments in the car, and for shopping.
2. A pair of reading glasses, for reading without eye fatigue.
3. A pair of computer glasses, which are similar to reading glasses, but "detuned" for the longer distance to the screen.
A workable design would be to have a pair of glasses with these three settings pre-programmed and selectable at the press of a button. Having to tune each lens individually for specific situations would be way more annoying hann dealing with different pairs of glasses.
