Ask HN: Light Phone Alternative for the Web?

So I saw the thread about dumb phone yesterday and was so happy to discover the light phone 2 with it's simplistic black and white display and focus on utility tools and services. It made me wonder how much of this could purely be a UX on top of existing services. Maybe a new web based OS that drives a simpler experience purely through text. I was wondering if anyone else felt the same? If there was a demand for such a thing? You'd still be able to use your existing device with its camera, GPS, etc but just swap apps for a simpler text based service.
