- Nzen 4y agotl;dr a site featuring 3D printer designs for physical puzzles (predominantly interlocking pieces that must slide in a certain sequence to surrender all the pieces). The host has advice about several aspects of printing to ensure satisfying fit. While thingverse hosts the openscad files, the host has ensured that those pages have tidy instructions and attribute each designer.
- imglorp 4y agoThere's a comment that Thingiverse stopped allowing zip file uploads. What's that about? Seems they had one job...
- abdullahkhalids 4y agoI want to design 3D jigsaw models, which from a 3D modelling perspective seem very similar to these. Is OpenSCAD [1] a good software to try doing this? Anyone have a guide on how to do this? [1] https://www.puzzlehub.org/tutorials/puzzle-modeling https://www.puzzlehub.org/tutorials/puzzle-modeling
- alanbernstein 4y agoOpenscad is a neat tool, I have used it plenty because I prefer code over a GUI. It tends to slow down for large complicated scenes. Depending on what exactly you have in mind, you might want the ability to show both "assembled" and "printing" layouts of your pieces. I have done something like this in openscad, it was manual and clunky, but it worked. If you want to do start with some smallish, blocky puzzles, openscad is not a bad tool to start with.
