TikTok is a Chinese company. The source code is mostly written in China. I'd say that TikTok is the Chinese equivalent of a FAANG company.
They get the talent because the fight is happening in the FAANG space, they are not there.

- kube-system 4y agoHeh, I only went and poked around because it has bitten me before. It seems to be a pattern with a lot of Chinese companies to have their own domestic facing sites, and then an entirely separate Western-facing presence.
