Meal Skipping and Shorter Meal Intervals Are Associated with Increased Risk
- amalgamated_inc 4y agoConfusing: skipping meals is associated with higher mortality, but so is a shorter interval between meals. But isn't skipping a meal just a really long interval between meals?
- powera 4y agoThe data in the abstract doesn't actually provide evidence for the conclusions in the title. Once again, Elsevier delenda est.
- ClapperHeid 4y agoThis seems to directly contradict what we're being told elsewhere: * Skipping meals is bad -- but elsewhere we're told intermittent fasting is good * Less than 3 meals a day is bad -- but elsewhere we're told a couple of 'proper' meals is better than snacking throughout the day. I do a fast day once a week and only have two meals a day; my breakfast and my dinner and I don't snack in between. Most current thinking suggests that's a beneficial system. According to this study, I'm doing it completely wrong.
