The other example I found more alarming was the discrepancy when asked to write about Joe Biden Corruption, vs Trump Corruption. Trump it was free to write about, but was blocked from even writing a fictional story where Joe Biden was corrupt.
That should be very alarming to everyone
- slowmovintarget 4y agoPolitical overrides are not acceptable, not in any direction.
- mrguyorama 4y agoBut the way the system works, if I start a company I can inject political bias into the products of my companies. Nobody bats an eye that the company making trump hats doesn't make biden hats. ChatGPT isn't a government organization, or any other "public good" organization, it is a business developing a product to sell. None of their potential customers want a chat bot that can be goaded into random conversations like this. I would expect the "Trump corruption" example you saw to eventually be neutered too.
- archagon 4y agoIf, hypothetically, a political party believes a lie, and makes it a core part of their platform, should the AI be forced to propagate that lie?
- richbell 4y agoAsking ChatGPT to write fiction isn't "propagating" anything. You could argue that questions like "what are some reasons Republicans think Joe Biden stole the 2020 election?" may be prone to misinformation, but selectively editing certain topics ignores the fundamental problem that ALL ChatGPT queries are prone to misinformation.
- DontchaKnowit 4y agoAgreed with the other reply that this specifically called it fiction. But also - this isnt a lie. Biden is corrupt as fuck. Hes in bed with the chinese communist party and engaged innepotism in the ukraine. Theres all kinds of evidence about this but people refuse to believe it for some inexplicable reason.
- boppo1 4y agoPlease provide the evidence so I can evaluate it myself. I do not like Biden and I fully expect he/his admin's probably up to nefarious stuff. But I have not seen any such evidence.
- DontchaKnowit 4y agohttps://www.finance.senate.gov/download/hsgac_-finance-joint-report https://www.finance.senate.gov/download/hsgac_-finance-joint... Heres a good start. Additionally there were emails recovered from Hunters laptop which indicated that payments which were made from chinese businesses to Hunter were intended to be held for Joe Biden himself. Let me know what you think after reading this. Ive tried to talk to people about this stuff before but people typically refuse to read the report and dismiss it all as political propoganda... which it is, but it also seems to be true from what I can tell.
- boppo1 4y agoI'll take a look after work and edit this post in the evening or morning. I followed the laptop on conservative outlets and recall there were emails referring to 'the big man' or something, but it was too vague/tenuous for me to accept beyond a reasonable doubt as "China is paying Biden". I also found lots of the 'evidence' against trump inconclusive, as did Mueller apparently.
- DontchaKnowit 4y agoIll admit even in the above report there is not much of a "smoking gun" but plenty of shady, unkosher behaviour that really suggests the idea that Biden was pedeling influence
- smrtinsert 4y agoThat's an overreach for sure, but in this case I'm sure the issue 100% of the Trump sell is that it's actually Biden is corrupt. This is why projection and "accusing your enemy what you are guilty of" is so effective, it creates distrust in systems, societal or technological
