Tech bosses face jail if children not kept safe online after UK parliament deal
- raxxorraxor 4y agoIn Europe this sounds much more like tech bosses will face jail if they do not cooperate to spread government propaganda. Tech bosses should face criticism, but the content control states enacted on platforms is against democracy and any western values. I do not believe anyone to have honest incentives that pretend they want to protect children. That is pretty much a guaranteed lie. If so, they could start with consumer protections, here the tech industry has quite a few questionable practices. But I guess their motivation is just plain content and moderation control and little else. As a European I would very much appreciate a reluctance to cooperate under these threats of legal repercussions. Also what do they mean with duty of care exactly?
