“Users” in this case are supposed to be software engineers. Thus, I don’t see how Amazon’s claim can be misleading. Server side encryption is very valuable, especially against breaches on the cloud provider. I would expect any mid to senior level engineer to understand the implications and add further security (local encryption before upload etc.) measures as neeeded.
