I've got 12 months of living expenses saved up, so financially I'm about as prepared as I can be. I'd apply for unemployment. I have a 2 bedroom place where I currently use one bedroom as an office, so I'd try to get a roommate to bring down my housing expenses. Time-wise, I'd probably take a month off to recover and decompress. If the timing were right, I might even take longer and hike a section of the Appalachian Trail or Pacific Crest Trail. After that, I'd take another month to brush up on my leetcode before jumping into interviews.
