Chronological timeline has not been removed. It is now shown more clear under the Following tab instead of the old starry icon. My guess is the 3rd party clients need to stop filtering out the ads or risk making the suspension permanent.

It’s not that they’re filtering. The API doesn’t give you access to the ads. Also if that was the case I’d expect Twitter to communicate about it.

  Then I guessed wrong, thanks!

You will find that "Latest" is gone, and "Top" remains.

That's not true, at least for me. There are now tabs for "For you" (previously "Top") and "Following" (previously "Latest").

Look at (say) https://twitter.com/search?q=MichaelTakeMP&src=typed_query https://twitter.com/search?q=MichaelTakeMP&src=typed_query . There is no "Latest" any more.

I can still see the "Latest" tab if I'm signed in, but can't if I'm signed out. Interesting.

No, "Top tweets" has become "For You" and "Latest" is now "Following"

Mine is missing tweets. It is more of "what twitter algorithm thinks is interesting from the people I follow in roughly chronological order". The latest used to show everything people you follow tweeted.
