Looking back I'm not sure the Oxygen theme has aged particularly well
Well, I am currently using the Oxygen theme (with a GTK 3 version called Oxygen SCSS) and I like it a lot better than the default Breeze theme. Buttons that look like buttons, a nice glow effect when highlighting things, and some of the icons* I find absolutely gorgeous (the Log Out, Restart, and Shut Down icons, for instance, have this nice glassy look).

- __float 4y ago"Nice glossy look" is very Vista-era: it's has fallen out of fashion since then.
- tmtvl 4y agoWho cares about fashion? If something looks good, it looks good, even if it's not fashionable. It's like saying the style of a nice Gothic cathedral has fallen out of fashion, it still looks better than a concrete and glass box.
- paul_funyun 4y agoCorrect about fashion, but wrong about the icons. Glassy icons are like concrete boxes, not cathedrals. They never looked good and were just the fashion for a while, like shag carpets or powdered wigs.
- tmtvl 4y agoOh come now, as long as you don't overdo it cut glass looks neat. Millions of crows and magpies can't be wrong.
