I don't know, I think everyone is aware that storing excess energy surplus from renewables is an unsolved problem and you are moralizing and making the debate by choice of strong words (lie, slavery) unnecessary emotional.
- throwaway8689 4y agoThere's an article about flywheel storage on hn front page right now. Not saying this solves the problem but it's an interesting contribution.
- pclmulqdq 4y agoFlywheel batteries have been proposed many times in the last 15-20 years, and there's a good reason none of them have gotten off the drawing board. They are very dangerous and not very energy-dense.
