Ask HN: chatGPT but for a company's knowledge base?
We're currently looking for a suitable knowledge management tool and after being blown away by chatGPT's comprehension of natural language, I'm wondering if something exists that:
- uses a language model to improve discoverability
- is GDPR compliant (ideally open-source or self hosted)
- does not make stuff up but links to the relevant knowledge base article
- supports versioning of articles
- simple text based format (like markdown)

- lma21 4y agoI'm not aware of any tool that can ingest thousands of company-specific knowledge data, and then have a chatGPT-like experience to answer questions related to that company (or product). I'd love to know what i can use to do that.

- mmlkrx 4y agoThank you for making me aware of this project. While it doesn't quite give the results (yet) I was hoping for, it does look quite promising!

- nutanc 4y agoThe search piece can be self hosted and can be compliant etc. But the generative piece is a little harder to do. The models are really big if you need good quality output and the best models are closed APIs. In my experiment for our web site, https://speech-kws.ozonetel.com/ozosearch https://speech-kws.ozonetel.com/ozosearch, the search piece is self hosted(know more links). But the generated answer is given by OpenAI API.
- ibestvina 4y agoWe are currently building something similar at Qluent [1], and are considering expanding into the usecase you described. If you find it interesting, I'd love to talk about your exact requirements. You can find me at ivan (dot) bestvina (at) qluent (dot) com. [1] https://qluent.com https://qluent.com
