- massysett 4y agoAlternative app stores will be a big yawn. iPhone users do not want them, and Apple will make it a pain to use them. So it will take a big push from third parties before they’ll take off. And I doubt those third parties will be able to push hard enough to overcome user inertia. Alternative app stores will be a niche thing, like FDroid was (is?) on Android. Which isn’t a bad thing for anyone but isn’t a big deal either.
- ksec 4y agoCompetition from whom? It is not like they both have some direct competitor other than themselves. And in many cases they are working together as one. As noted multiple times in Email shown in court.
