You're just suggesting they do it slowly. Salami slicing to the same conclusion.
- ido 4y agoNo it's not. People adapt to the host country and become people of that country. My kids were both born in Germany and are "German" in every way, even though both me and my wife are immigrants. Doing it gradually allows immigrants to subsume into society rather than create parallel societies.
- nhchris 4y agoThat's blank-slatist pseudoscience that has been repeatedly and thoroughly debunked. What makes a German 'German' is as much, if not more so, about ancestry as it is about culture. After all, their culture has changed dramatically in the last e.g. 500 years.
- luckylion 4y agoLiving in Germany, I'm sure you see that that's neither easy nor something that happens automatically. Parallel societies exist and are growing. Maybe it would be different if you didn't have large cultural groups who could form them? But then again, there aren't any Polish parallel societies in Germany (and ~2% immigrated or have an ancestor that came from Poland), and after a generation, you can only tell them apart from the rest of the population by their last name.
