There might even be a point where you cannot keep up with all of it - that is a freaky feeling. Then you're trying to keep things working without being able to understand to the last detail what everyone is doing. Your codebase might be tending towards a pile of crap or not and you'll have to try to make it not by asking people to do code reviews or tests.
