Yeah great point. I brought up with them that part of the issue is they do not understand my code, and making assumptions about it is insulting. They have said

Yeah great point. I brought up with them that part of the issue is they do not understand my code, and making assumptions about it is insulting. They have said it should be easy, but we don't even have the tooling set up to deploy these new environments in an automated way as I ship them. We don't have a automated way to do a bunch of deployments when we change a core library. They brought up that is how a lot of companies work, but it seems change for the sake of change. The CTO says he's looking 10y out which in tech I think is ridiculous.
