Hospitalizations with covid are literally the only reliable metric left, there is no testing and no reporting otherwise. If you remove those statistics you have the dystopia of complete ignorance of illness spreading like wildfire. Remember some people that get covid will NEVER recover even if they are alive, their quality of life will be gone. Covid is not the flu, there are long-term consequences even for people who think they are young and healthy and therefore somehow immune to long-term damage. Let the statistics go, least of your problems, as long as they are done in the same consistent manner then you can compare apples-to-apple.
