My Pi-hole has been running in a Docker container on my main workstation for several years. I tend to refresh it once a month or so with a simple configuration as shown in the example files.
docker pull pihole/pihole:latest
docker run -d \
--name pihole \
--restart=unless-stopped \
-p 192.168.1.1:53:53/tcp \
-p 192.168.1.1:53:53/udp \
-p 80:80 \
-e TZ="Australia/Perth" \
-e PIHOLE_DNS_="1.1.1.1\;1.0.0.1" \
-e WEBPASSWORD="{redacted}" \
-e DNSMASQ_LISTENING=all \
pihole/pihole:latest
- yokoprime 4y agowhy not docker-compose? so nice to just do the old up / down
- lostlogin 4y agoI did that but it doesn’t play nice with containers on the same host and they lose wan access (but have lan access). I run it separately now.
- Yajirobe 4y agoIs raspberry's throughput enough to handle the load?
- Tomte 4y agoIt's just DNS traffic going through the device, not videos.
