Or the fstop, focal length, & stuff.
- aendruk 4y agoIf you prefer you can preserve those individually with command line arguments, but I’d say that takes us out of the territory of “clear out all metadata”. What I’m trying to highlight is that an image’s literal metadata may include some data that in practice would be considered part of the main content. It would be nice if we had some clear, common language with which to draw that distinction rather then resort to enumerating individual fields.
- yakubin 4y agoIt would be nice. Currently, I have exceptions for the orientation and ICC profile tags in my static site generator for my photography website, but I could be missing something.
- ghostpepper 4y agoI don't think that stuff affects presentation, does it?
- davchana 4y agoNo, it doesn't. But sometimes, when I see photos on flickr, or private blogs, I like to see those parameters.
- darekkay 4y agoHere's what I'm using to strip all metadata except photographer-relevant stuff: exiftool -all= -tagsfromfile @ -AllDates -Make -Model -LensModel -Artist -FNumber -ISO -ExposureTime -ExposureProgram -ExposureMode -ExposureCompensation -FocalLength -WhiteBalance -Flash photo.jpg
