That's pretty much how it works now, at least with IVF, pre-implantation genetic testing and known mutations/deletions.

- tempestn 4y agoCurrently they can and do screen for known mutations in IVF, but they don't correct them; they just filter out eggs that have them. Sperm can be tested, but I don't think it can be filtered.
- runnerup 4y agoIndeed it makes sense that testing the DNA of a sperm cell would necessarily destroy it.
