You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
Also, it wasn't their first recourse. They fired her, but then she sued and they took their documentation to court and counter-sued. It was factually their last recourse.
- bbarn 4y agoIt must be a much more straight forward process in Canada for small business. In the US, I have worked for a company sued twice for people claiming unpaid wages. I personally knew both to be fraudulent, and retaliatory for letting the person go. The company I was with always just settled for the claimed amount if it was a couple thousand dollars because it was easier and cheaper than fighting it in court.
