Telling someone that their mental health issues could come from pathogen exposure demeans their experience in individualistic societies. This is quite a presumption! The advocates of neurodiversity that I’ve seen care less about where these things come from, and more about how they are thought of in society. So what if it’s caused by a pathogen?
