I'd pay like $10/mo I think. Possibly more if there were no censorship/limitations (it had access to internet browsing, and I could direct it to URL's for information and whatnot).
I pay that for Copilot right now, which I feel is easily worth $50/mo. (I don't use ChatGPT that much, it'd need to be ingrained in my IDE workflow)
- pjot 4y agoHigh bar: $50 Low bar: $5 Would consider: $25 Bargain: $10
- joshstrange 4y agoYeah, I'd need to find a way to integrate ChatGPT more into my life, right now it's just a fun toy I occasionally try. Now if it had an API and people could build apps/plugins with it (and I just login with my ChatGPT account) then I'd be interested. CoPilot has provided me amazing value for the a tiny price. It's to the point that for anything even resembling boilerplate/obvious code I just expect it will get it right (the exact way I would have written it). The other day I was using CodeRunner (a little tool to run/test snippets of code in various languages, it's not perfect but it's a nice little playground that runs locally) and I was just staring at the screen wondering why it wasn't auto-completing the line before I realized "Oh, I don't have CoPilot here", I've come to depend/expect it's output, to "trust" it such that when it's not there I feel the loss. Same way I wish I had multiple cursors in every app/webapp like I do in my IDE.
- idopmstuff 4y agoI put $10-20, but I'd honestly probably go a little higher than that. That's less a function of ChatGPT's utility (it's great for some things but not enough to be a huge timesaver) and more of the fact that I think it's neat. Given my finances, something like $25/month isn't going to have any noticeable impact, so that seems like a reasonable price to pay for a fun toy that reminds me that we're living in the future.
- scrollaway 4y agoAssuming it doesn't have the limitations it has right now, and it becomes more reliable, I put in $4 for too low, $400 for too high, $250 for would consider, $50 for bargain. You have to know how to use it, but if you do, then it easily is far less expensive than the alternative. However, at $400+/mo, it starts to be worth it to just use gpt directly and write your own chatbot.
- weird-eye-issue 4y ago$200
- weird-eye-issue 4y agoGuys, I'm in the content business. If you know what you are doing you can get thousands of dollars of value out of it.
- theshrike79 4y agoI'd pay $10 in a heartbeat if that would lift some of the limitations and issues caused by high load. Basically separate the free tier riffraff from blue checkmark people. I might pay up to $20 if I had access to a proper API to integrate ChatGPT with my life better.
- hanoz 4y agoI think I'd pay $10/mo for it but then I'd probably cancel my Copilot subscription because its integration with Visual Studio is so poor.
