I've been active on Twitter for the past 15 years, thanks to its API and nice clients such as Echofon and TweetBot.
I never understood anything to their website nor app, and will certainly not use Twitter any more if that becomes the only way to use it. What made Twitter great is its API and ecosystem around it.
