"Supports policies" is nothing tangible in itself. Exxon will do whatever makes them the most money possible.
If 'green energy' turns out to be that thing, they'll jump on it.
- 082349872349872 4y agoMy parents have been trying to divest themselves of oil majors for some time. So they sell some CVX/SHEL/XOM/etc., and buy green energy replacements. Only to find out they've been playing whack-a-mole, because several months later, the green company has been acquired, and after the merger, my parents position once again has more CVX/SHEL/XOM/...
- eru 4y agoIf that's actually the case, that sounds like a winning investment strategy: acquirers typically pay a premium. Every round of whack-a-mole is a transfer of wealth from the oil companies to your parents. They should be happy!
