This piece is just as much the simplistic, black and white thinking it pretends to argue against. I think what we are seeing now is a re-balancing of priorities due to a significantly changed environment. This is not an extremist position. Pure, unrestrained globalism is. As a sidenote, why does the West allow China to run social media apps inside its borders whilst China blocks all foreign media inside its own borders? Would this be acceptable in any other trade context?
