- Pet_Ant 4y agoThe way I explained it to a friend is that GPT will put writers out of business much in the way that Lorem Ipsum did. If you want something that looks real-ish from across the room, sure, but when you need it to be real then it's not going to cut it. Would you trust a legal document generated by a probabilistic model and not proofed by a lawyer?
- ghaff 4y agoFor that matter, Seth presumably knows better about things like press releases and investor decks. They may be formulaic. But those had better be real approved quotations and legal is going to want to see backing for any claims you're making or numbers you're using. Writing the press release is pretty much trivial. It's all the other stuff that's hard.
- wudangmonk 4y agoI get the idea but I'm not sure I agree on the example. To me, writing a legal document and translating from legalese seems like something an AI would be great at. An example like a novel would be something I agree more with since I don't see that happening at the moment.
- Pet_Ant 4y agoTranslating from legalese into English for reference is fine because it can be wrong... because the binding form is the legalese contract so any deviation from it is already risky.
