Why can't I see any images on the roll of film that I've removed from my camera?
- phs318u 4y agoOuch! I hope those weren't the proverbial "priceless holiday snaps".
- AnimalMuppet 4y agoA bit off topic, but true story: The developer lost our pictures of our honeymoon. When they couldn't find them, they offered us... replacement blank rolls.
- celtoid 4y agoSeeing the helpful replies actually warmed my stony heart.
- ggm 4y agoI would have loved film to have some indicator which said "you're a moron, this was already exposed" I now have a roll of film which may or may not have been exposed. I'll probably develop it anyway to find out. Its been in storage for two decades, intrigued to see if anything has lasted. My old technique was to wind the leader fully into the cannister but I have a feeling modern C41 process machines don't like this (I used to use a black bag to empty the can and wind into the developer spool)
- hilbert42 4y agoI dispare, what happened to general knowledge/education—even if the camera owner had never previously seen a film camera? Tragically, this has to be a quintessential example of the entropic nature of knowledge. I've often thought it wouldn't take much disruption to society to bring on a new dark age, and worrying stories like this seem to confirm my fears.
