Medical resources will always be limited. There is no way to get around the fact that people are willing to spend nigh infinite amounts of money staying alive a little longer. There is no way around rationing. You either ration through the free market like in the 3rd world, ration via time like in Canada and England or do both like in the US. Even with zero greed in the system we would still have to ration things. I'd argue that we are not currently 'fighting greed' at all. The US healthcare system is not capable of prioritizing anything. It's a mishmash of corporate and government entities hobbled by regulation with no clear entity in charge.
