I think there's an important question here. There's been a huge uptick in articles in the US decrying gas stoves, but there doesn't seem to have been an uptick in actual issues being caused by gas stoves, or in research showing risks that were not previously known to a substantial degree. Why is this happening?
In terms of energy, the amount of fossil fuel utilization of gas stoves in the US falls greatly below that of space heating or water heaters, and in nearly all homes is trivial compared with automotive gasoline or fossil fuel usage for HVAC, water heaters or clothes dryers.
The basic risks of gas stoves have been known for years. We're all taught to ensure gas stoves are turned off as children, and gas stoves are far safer than they were in prior generations - we've all heard of "sticking your head into a (gas) oven" to kill one's self, which isn't possible with today's gas supply or stoves.
The articles about the dangers of gas stoves have to do with various pollutant levels caused by cooking, but those are roughly similar even with electric stoves - pollutants are generated simply through the process of cooking food, and ventilation is necessary for literally any stove, gas, wood or even electric.
There is literally no new risk in terms of gas stoves that has not been the case for centuries. So what exactly is going on here?
