The funny thing is that I can sort of see how some of these end up happening. Dr (male) and Dr (female) as separate titles makes sense for example, for i18n reasons, since some languages like Spanish will require the info - even a simple 'welcome!' would have to choose bienvenido/bienvenida depending on gender.
