Generalizing to all compounds marketed and prescribed as "antidepressant", that may be true. However, there are compounds that do mitigate conditions associated with clinical depression. It's more about not having the tools at the time to effectively treat real conditions in people, and whether making people okay with things even if it robs them of other capacities was the only acceptable, pragmatic, and even compassionate choice. I think the lawsuit will have many high bars, but at the very least I hope it begins the end of the practice of prescribing to children for behavior control.
