"No" SWE ever got promoted for documenting someone else's code. Follow the incentives.
- sublinear 4y agoHuh? Documenting a terrible project is an excellent way to propose and volunteer yourself into a new project of your own design and ultimately get promoted into lead/architect/SME types of roles. I don't know anyone who has done it any other way.
