As of today, Haiti does not have a single elected official

  The situation in Haiti appears to be very troubled. Clearly the government is barely functioning. However, the journalistic coverage is very minimal. This is partly because of the repeated violent attacks on journalists, and partly because the American public doesn't really care what happens in Haiti. So what we have are reports that are ideology-based rather than fact-based. Either the whole situation is an excuse for "colonial" forces to re-invade Haiti, or the lack of an elected government is the cause of all problems.

  The Libertarian ideal has been achieved. Will be interesting to see how it works out.
