If you actually need to fast charge the majority of the time, then an EV is probably not the best option right now. The difference is that you can easily drive to a cheaper petrol station near the highway while fast chargers are always expensive regardless. I'm saying this as an Opel Ampera-e owner whose wife who doesn't drive has permanent range anxiety anxiety though I don't ;-)
