Online socials starting with BBS were simply a way of life for me growing up. It has followed me into adulthood. I don’t think you are missing out, we just operate differently. I don’t interact with anyone on linkedin other than recruiters. For ephemeral thoughts I put them on mastodon. I tried twitter for a bit but it didn’t suit me. Reddit exists for random things like bike tag and catching up on local news.
