There is really no need to understand it.
It's like trying to understand what happens to anyone who swims in a septic tank everyday. The sewage is not going to get "safe" to swim in.
As long as everything is built on top of collecting Likes and Followers info sewage surrounding everyone will keep growing.
- swores 4y agoI assume you aren't suggesting that scientists were wasting time studying how different things can cause us illnesses, and that the first time humans realised a pattern between swimming in sewage and getting sick was where we should have ended research into germ theory? So I also don't understand why you'd stick your head in the sand and think we shouldn't try to learn more about how things that are known to cause mental health issues actually do cause them, or ways to mitigate it beyond a binary "no more of this wide-reaching concept"?

- alexvoda 4y agoWe simply do not have the option to uninvent the internet the same way people in cholera infested London didn't have the option of getting water from elsewhere. What you propose is taking action at the individual and family scale and that is good. But that doesn't solve the macro scale.
