In general I prefer taxes over bans, unless good alternatives exist. Polystyrene (styrofoam) has plenty of alternatives so it's reasonable to ban. Plastic plates could be replaced with paper plates, but I'm not sure what to do about single use plastic cutlery.

- Aaron2222 4y agoThe problem with wooden cutlery though is that it tastes like wood. And don't get me started on paper straws. Would much rather be given reusable cutlery to use and return later.
- Tagbert 4y agoI’ve seen single use cutlery made from formed bamboo. At least use the compostable cutlery if your area has municipal composting. Then it has a chance of breaking down.
