I think one needs to take any assertion of Commodore’s marketshare numbers with a grain of salt — Commodore itself didn’t release numbers at the time and the numbers we hear these days all seem to be anecdotal. That said, I don’t think Macs surpassed Apple II marketshare until circa 1991 or so, so one doesn’t need to look to competitors.
